Privacy Policy

1. Who we are

DividendsCut ("we", "us") is a service that sends email alerts when a tracked stock cuts, suspends, or eliminates its dividend. This Privacy Policy explains what data we collect, why, and how we handle it.

2. Data we collect

  • Account data: email address and a hashed password (we never store your password in plain text).
  • Notification email: optional alternate email for receiving alerts.
  • Watchlist: the list of stock tickers you choose to track.
  • Billing data: if you subscribe to Pro, we store a Stripe customer ID and subscription status. Card details are handled by Stripe and never reach our servers.
  • Session cookies: a single HTTP-only cookie to keep you signed in.

3. How we use it

  • To authenticate you and keep your session active.
  • To send you dividend cut alerts via email.
  • To process subscription billing (Pro tier only) through Stripe.

4. Third parties

We share the minimum data necessary with:

  • Stripe — billing and payment processing.
  • AWS Simple Email Service (SES) — email delivery for alerts.
  • Financial Modeling Prep — public stock and dividend data (we send your watched tickers, never your personal data).
  • Neon — managed Postgres hosting for your account data.

5. Cookies

We use a single first-party session cookie. We do not use tracking cookies, analytics pixels, or third-party advertising trackers.

6. Data retention

We retain your data while your account is active. If you delete your account, we delete your personal data within 30 days, except where retention is required by law (e.g., billing records for tax purposes).

7. Your rights

You can request access, correction, export, or deletion of your personal data at any time by emailing support@dividendscut.com. If you are in the EU/UK, you have rights under GDPR; if you are in California, you have rights under the CCPA.

8. Changes

We may update this policy from time to time. The "Last updated" date at the top reflects the most recent revision. Significant changes will be notified by email.
